Technology
Statement of Purpose The purpose of the technology committee is to assist school staff in developing and maintaining technology in the school in order to provide students and families with technological resources that enhance learning and support the mission of the school. The technology committee also exists to help ensure safe and appropriate use of technology. Finally, the committee seeks to expand the function of the school within the community through technology services.
Responsibilities 1. To provide advice and support for maintaining virus protection on all networked computers.
2. To assist with maintaining an updated inventory of all technological equipment and materials in the building.
3. To work with school staff in maintaining and updating our Technology Plan that includes: a - A plan to update technology resources according to the needs of students and staff and commensurate with current technological developments in the field. b - An outline of future funding needs. c - A plan for supplemental, outside funding such as grants, government programs, etc.
4. To assist school administration in maintaining and updating an Acceptable Use Policy for Internet and software use.
5. Provide ongoing maintenance of technology equipment and trouble-shooting as necessary.
