Technology Committee

Statement of Purpose


The purpose of the technology committee is to develop and maintain technology in the school in order to provide students and families with technological resources that enhance learning and support the mission of the school. The technology committee also exists to ensure safe and appropriate use of technology. Finally, the committee seeks to expand the function of the school within the community through technology services.

Responsibilities


1. To maintain virus protection on all networked computers.

2. To maintain an updated inventory of all technological equipment and materials in the building.

3. To develop and maintain a current Technology Plan that includes:

    a - A plan to update technology resources according to the needs of students and staff and commensurate with current technological developments in the field.

    b - An outline of future funding needs.

    c - A plan for supplemental, outside funding such as grants, government programs, etc.

4. Develop and maintain an Acceptable Use Policy for Internet and software use.

5. Provide ongoing maintenance of technology equipment and trouble-shooting as necessary.
