Catholic Schools Week 2020

This week, from January 26 through February 1, Stella Maris Academy is celebrating National Catholic Schools Week. All three campuses across the city of Duluth – St. James, St. John’s and Holy Rosary – will be buzzing with activities every day of the week, as well as service projects, prayer, and fun to celebrate and recognize Catholic school education. Every day features a different theme that inspires creativity, learning, appreciation for community, and friendship in the students.

On Tuesday, January 28, students at Holy Rosary campus will celebrate “Superhero Day.” Local Duluth heroes will be visiting the students from 12:15 - 1:00 p.m., including a rescue squad representative, fire fighter, doctor, veterinarian, and K9 officer. Students will be dressed as their favorite superheroes!

On Wednesday, January 29 at St. John’s campus, students will take part in the Middle School Olympics opening ceremony, a joy-filled event for the whole campus that includes a presentation of countries with students dressed in their assigned nation’s traditional garb, as well as flag decorating, a cultural luncheon, and finally, the Olympic games on Friday.

On Thursday, January 30 at St. James campus, students will participate in a service project by packing snack bags to support the Silver Bay Veterans Home in the afternoon. All week, students will be sharing on the Virtue Wall, “What are you grateful for?”

The entire week will close in celebration with the Winter Wonderland all-campus family dance at St. James campus on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
